Job summary

Metrea is seeking a Senior RF Engineer to drive the design, development, testing, and debugging of advanced RF systems for national security programs. You will lead projects from prototype through full-rate production and mentor junior engineers, while collaborating with RF and Digital teams to resolve complex challenges.

You should have 7+ years of RF hardware experience, a strong background in receivers, PA design, antennas, and hands-on proficiency with RF design tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Electrical Engineering, RF or related field.
• 7+ years of RF hardware development experience.
• Strong RF theory and hands-on expertise in receivers, PA, and antennas.
• Ability to lead projects and mentor engineers.

Responsibilities

GroupOverview

Electromagnetic and Cyber Group (EM&C)is responsible fordeveloping flexible and survivable advanced electronic warfare and secure communications equipment while providing the industry’s leading signals intelligence, electronic warfare, and cyber experts.Metrea specializes in signal classification, direction finding, advanced geolocation techniques, and waveform development including waveforms for MANET and LPI/LPD applications.Metrea also develops special purpose radios for government customers and licenses DF and geolocation solutions to multiple OEMs.

Position Summary

As a Senior RF Engineer, you will drive the design, development, testing, and debugging of advanced RF systems. This role requires a proven leader with deep technical expertise in RF engineering and a track record of guiding projects from initial prototype through full-rate production. The ideal candidate will work both independently and as a team leader, demonstrating hands-on proficiency while mentoring junior engineers and setting a high standard for design and development practices.

What You’ll Do

• Collaborate with a team of fellow RF and Digital engineers to resolve RF system challenges
• Work with cross-functional teams in the development of new products, taking them from prototype to full-rate production
• Drive process improvements, enhancing design efficiency, product quality, and manufacturability
• Participate in and lead design reviews, ensuring adherence to best engineering practices
• Mentor junior engineers, fostering technical growth and knowledge sharing

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s orMaster’sin Electrical Engineering, RF Engineering, or a related field
• 7+ years’ experience in RF hardware development.
• Strong grasp of RFincludingreceivers,power amplifiersandantenna design concepts
• Ability to perform cascade analysis of RF transceiver systems.
• Experience with RF circuit design software such as ADS/MWOand schematic capture tools such as OrCAD or DxDesigner
• Strong proficiencyin RF simulation and modeling tools (e.g., HFSS, ADS, CST, MATLAB)
• Ability to designgeneral analog circuitry,power suppliesandRF/Digital interfaces.
• Proficient atRF and high-speed PCB layout including materialselection, EM simulationand shielding.
• Knowledge of modern communication systems concepts (RF, IF/IQ, time/frequency domains, modulation).
• Strong understanding of product development life cycles, from concept to full-rate production
