Job description

We’re a low-ego, collaborative team of curious problem-solvers, passionate about building well-crafted, innovative products. As an engineering-first, product-focused company, we work across a wide range of technical challenges—spanning RF, DSP, and automotive electronics—from high-performance engineering tools to consumer products found in brick-and-mortar stores.

We’re looking for a Senior RF Engineer who shares our mindset: humble, thoughtful, and driven by curiosity and impact. In this role, you’ll lead RF design efforts across the product lifecycle—from architecture and circuit design through simulation, layout, validation, and production. You’ll help shape and evolve our growing product families and play a key part in turning ambitious ideas into reliable, beautifully executed products.

You’ll thrive here if you:

  • Love solving difficult RF and mixed-signal problems with a team that values clarity, creativity, and continuous learning
  • Enjoy moving between system-level tradeoffs, detailed circuit design, and hands-on laboratory work
  • Take ownership without ego, communicate openly across disciplines, and stay focused on what’s best for the product and the people using it

Success in this role requires strong critical thinking, deep RF expertise, and the ability to move seamlessly between big-picture system architecture and hands-on execution. Excellent communication, organization, technical judgment, and decision-making are essential.

This is a meaningful opportunity to join a growing company in a pivotal role. If you’re looking to work with smart, kind people on challenging, high-impact projects—we’d love to hear from you.

This position is onsite in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Salary Range: $125,000-$165,000 depending on experience.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead RF and microwave circuit and subsystem design from concept through production
  • Make go/no-go decisions with a high degree of autonomy around RF architecture and system designs
  • Translate product and system requirements into RF architectures, interface definitions, performance budgets, and verification plans
  • Design circuits using amplifiers, mixers, filters, oscillators, synthesizers, switches, attenuators, couplers, and other RF components
  • Perform component selection, schematic capture, and impedance-controlled PCB layout for high-frequency and mixed-signal designs
  • Conduct gain, noise figure, linearity, stability, spurious, frequency-planning, and link-budget analyses
  • Use circuit and electromagnetic simulation tools to evaluate designs, guide layout decisions, and reduce technical risk
  • Develop test plans and characterize RF performance using vector network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, oscilloscopes, power meters, and related laboratory equipment
  • Debug complex RF hardware and system-integration issues, identify root causes, and drive practical corrective actions
  • Collaborate with electrical, FPGA, DSP, embedded software, mechanical, project management, procurement, and manufacturing team members throughout the product lifecycle
  • Own fabrication and assembly handoffs with PCB vendors and manufacturing partners for prototypes and production builds
  • Apply design-for-manufacturing and design-for-test principles and support production validation, yield improvement, and sustaining engineering
  • Generate and maintain design documentation, calculations, test procedures, test results, drawings, and engineering change records
  • Support applicable regulatory, EMC, and product-compliance activities
  • Provide technical leadership through design reviews, mentoring, and the development of RF design and laboratory best practices

Qualifications

  • Five or more years of professional RF, microwave, or high-frequency hardware design experience is preferred
  • Strong understanding of RF fundamentals, including impedance matching, transmission lines, S-parameters, noise, gain, linearity, stability, and signal integrity
  • Demonstrated experience developing RF hardware from initial requirements through schematic, layout, bring-up, verification, and production
  • Experience designing RF and mixed-signal printed circuit boards; experience using Altium Designer is preferred
  • Hands-on experience using RF laboratory equipment, including vector network analyzers and spectrum analyzers
  • Experience with RF circuit simulation and electromagnetic analysis tools
  • Ability to interpret component specifications, application notes, test data, and manufacturing feedback to make sound engineering decisions
  • Experience integrating RF hardware with digital, FPGA, DSP, embedded software, power, and mechanical systems
  • Experience supporting design-for-manufacturing, production test, and contract manufacturing partners
  • Knowledge of EMC, regulatory compliance, and product certification considerations is preferred
  • Proven experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to plan, execute, and deliver complex technical projects
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines
  • Analytical mindset with excellent troubleshooting skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Availability to work onsite in Cincinnati, Ohio

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field from an accredited university, or commensurate professional experience, is preferred.
  • Full time, salaried position onsite in Cincinnati, OH
  • 6% 401k match, fully vested immediately
  • Paid holidays, vacation, and sick leave
  • Health, dental, vision, life insurance, and retirement plan are offered
