Job summary

Tampa Microwave in Clearwater, FL is seeking a Principal RF Design Engineer to advance multi-orbit SATCOM systems, developing cutting‑edge SATCOM solutions for DoD markets, including Parabola Antennas, RF components, ESA, modem integration, and mechanically steered positioners.

The role leads hardware/software requirements, performs link budgets for GEO, MEO and LEO across X-, Ku-, and Ka-bands, and designs waveguides and high‑frequency filters up to 40 GHz.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship required.
• Master’s Degree of Science in Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics with MBA or equivalent business education/experience.
• Minimum 15 years in military or commercial SATCOM.

Responsibilities

• Design, simulate, and select RF components, including layout development and optimization for prototypes.
• Collaborate on analog design addressing RF power requirements and integration with logic circuits.
• Develop land-based SATCOM systems including transceivers, modems, antennas, and related RF components with manufacturing teams.
• Translate high-level system requirements into detailed hardware specs for modular RF products.
