Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a senior RF/Microwave engineer to design and test MMICs, modules and phased array hardware for advanced radar and communications systems.

You will work with HFSS, ADS, CST, Genesys and Cadence Virtuoso, perform cascaded analysis and RF layout, and collaborate with cross-functional teams across sites.

Qualifications

• Degree in STEM with 5+ years experience, or an advanced degree with 3+ years.
• Experience in Microwave/RF system, subsystem and component analysis, design and test.
• Experience with electromagnetic simulation tools: HFSS, ADS, CST, Genesys, and Cadence Virtuoso.
• Experience with RF calculations and Cascaded Analysis.
• Background designing and testing analog CCAs, including frequency conversion, automatic gain control, amplifier design and analog filter design.
• Experience in electrical interconnects and transmission line design.
• Understanding of RF layout techniques from HF to X-Band.
• Understanding EMI analysis and mitigation.
• Strong written and oral communication; ability to multi-task; self-learning.

Requirements

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience.
• Experience in Microwave/RF system, subsystem and component analysis, design and test.
• Experience with electromagnetic simulation tools such as HFSS, ADS, CST, Genesys and Mentor Graphics’ Xpedition Cadence Virtuso, and analytical tools such as Matlab.
• Experience performing basic RF calculations and Cascaded Analysis.
• Background designing and testing analog CCAs, including frequency conversion, automatic gain control, amplifier design and analog filter design.
• Experience in electrical interconnects and transmission line design.
• Understanding of RF layout techniques from HF to X-Band.
• Understanding of EMI analysis and mitigation techniques.
• Propensity for learning through self-study and being comfortable in a multi-tasking environment.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Understanding of allocating and flowing down requirements from the system to the component level.
• Experience designing RF/Microwave MMIC circuits, modules or test fixtures.
• Experience with GaAs and/or GaN MMIC devices.
• Experience with integrated circuit layout and physical verification using Cadence Virtuoso software tools.
• Familiarity with semiconductor processing and concepts, e.g. technologies like GaAs, GaN, SOI.
• Strong academic background that includes courses in: Microwave Engineering, Microwave Systems, Electromagnetic Theory and Radar Systems.
• Strong hands‑on experience with microwave testing techniques, including using spectrum analyzers, Real‑time Spectrum Analyzers (RSAs), Vector Network Analyzers (VNAs) and Performance Network Analyzer (PNAs).
• Experience in technical writing, proposal writing, and oral presentations.
