Job summary

Umbra Lab, Inc. in Reston, Virginia, is seeking an experienced RF Microwave Design Engineer to lead end-to-end design of spaceborne RF systems, antennas, and passive microwave hardware.

You will design, analyze, and optimize OMTs, feed networks, waveguide components, circulators, and perform full‑wave EM simulations, with collaboration across mechanical and systems teams. This on‑site role requires at least a Bachelor's in EE and 5–8+ years in RF engineering, with US citizenship for security

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 5–8+ years of RF/microwave engineering experience.
• Strong antenna and waveguide theory background.
• Experience with passive microwave devices (OMTs, circulators).
• 3D EM tools experience (HFSS, CST, FEKO).
• U.S. citizenship required for clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design and analyze RF antennas and feed systems.
• Develop and validate high‑isolation, broadband OMTs.
• Create passive waveguide components and circulators.
• Perform full‑wave EM simulations and tuning.
• Support fabrication, testing, and documentation.
