Revit Sprinkler Design Engineering Team Manager Location: Remote (UK-based, with occasional meet-ups)
Salary: £60,000 - £70,000 per annum
Employment Type: Full-time Company Overview: A growing and dynamic sprinkler design consultancy supporting multiple top-tier fire protection firms across the UK. With continued growth and demand, the company is seeking an experienced and proactive Team Manager to lead its innovative Revit-based sprinkler design team. Role Overview: This role involves managing a team of Revit Sprinkler Design Engineers while overseeing the design and development of sprinkler systems for various commercial and residential projects. The role combines technical leadership, project oversight, and team management, requiring both deep design expertise and strong organisational skills. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of sprinkler design engineers using Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, and other BIM tools.
  • Ensure all designs comply with relevant fire protection codes and standards, including BS EN 12845, NFPA, and FM Global.
  • Provide regular mentoring, technical guidance, and performance reviews to team members.
  • Conduct quality control reviews on project designs to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborate with project managers, architects, and contractors to ensure coordination and timely delivery.
  • Drive continuous improvement across design processes and workflows.
  • Develop and implement training initiatives to enhance team skills.
  • Effectively allocate resources to meet project deadlines and client expectations.
  • Maintain clear and organised project documentation and internal communications.
  • Stay informed on industry developments, standards, and emerging technologies.
Qualifications & Skills Required:
  • Proven experience leading or managing a sprinkler design team.
  • Strong proficiency in Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, and other BIM software.
  • In-depth knowledge of sprinkler system standards (BS EN 12845, NFPA, FM Global).
  • Strong understanding of hydraulic calculations and pipe sizing.
  • At least 5 years' experience in sprinkler design, with a minimum of 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Excellent communication, team-building, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and team members across a remote setting.
  • Certifications such as LPCB Sprinkler qualifications are advantageous.
  • Familiarity with gas suppression and fire alarm systems is a plus.
