Job summary

PeopleSolutions, Inc. is seeking a Senior Revit Technician and Designer to lead Scan-to-BIM projects, work from point cloud data, and develop accurate Revit models onsite in Richmond, VA. You will coordinate BIM deliverables with architectural, structural, and MEPF teams from initial scans through final BIM deliverables.

The role requires strong Revit expertise, Navisworks coordination, and the ability to mentor junior designers while maintaining BIM standards and templates across projects.

Qualifications

• Professional experience using Revit in an engineering or architecture environment.

Responsibilities

• Create, develop, and maintain Revit templates and standardized workflows.
• Support BIM standards and practices across projects.

Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior Revit Technician and Designer to take a lead role in the design and BIM aspects of Scan-to-BIM projects. This position will be responsible for working with point cloud and reality capture data, developing accurate Revit models, and coordinating BIM deliverables with design and construction teams.

The Senior Revit Technician and Designer will collaborate closely with architectural, structural, and MEPF disciplines, supporting projects from initial scan data through detailed modeling, design coordination, and final BIM deliverables.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design side of Scan-to-BIM projects, coordinating scan data and Revit models with both design and construction teams.
• Lead BIM coordination and design activities across multiple projects while working closely with architectural, structural, and MEPF teams.
• Create, modify, and manage detailed 3D Revit models and 2D AutoCAD drawings for architectural and MEPF systems.
• Convert point cloud and reality capture data into accurate, detailed Revit 3D models.
• Perform BIM clash detection and coordination to identify and resolve conflicts between disciplines and systems.
• Ensure BIM models and deliverables are properly aligned with project design and construction requirements.
• Create, develop, and maintain Revit templates and standardized modeling workflows.
• Support consistent BIM standards and practices across projects.
• Train and mentor junior designers and technicians on Revit workflows, Scan-to-BIM techniques, modeling standards, and BIM coordination practices.
• Use scan data and Revit models to support the coordination of design and construction activities.
• Work collaboratively with project teams to ensure BIM models accurately reflect existing conditions and proposed design requirements.

Required Experience & Qualifications

• Professional experience working with Revit within an engineering firm, architecture firm, general contractor, or similar AEC environment.
• Strong experience with BIM coordination and design.
• Advanced working knowledge of Revit.
• Experience with Navisworks for BIM coordination and clash detection.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD.
• Demonstrated experience working with point cloud data and reality capture technology.
• Experience converting point cloud/reality capture data into detailed Revit models.
• Experience coordinating scan data, Revit models, and construction/design information.
• Strong understanding of BIM workflows and coordination practices.
• Ability to work across architectural, structural, and MEPF disciplines.
• Ability to train, mentor, and support junior designers and technicians.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to produce accurate, high-quality BIM deliverables.
