Job summary

Sovos is hiring a Senior Revenue Accountant to ensure accurate global revenue recognition under ASC 606 and to build scalable revenue processes as the company expands across 70+ countries. You will perform journal entries, manage deferred revenue, and partner cross-functionally with IT, FP&A, and acquired entities while driving policy improvements and leveraging AI tools to streamline revenue operations.

Experience in SaaS revenue and NetSuite is preferred; CPA or active pursuit is required, and

• 6–8 years of progressive accounting experience with at least 3 years in revenue recognition.
• CPA certification or active pursuit; ERP experience; NetSuite preferred.
• Fluency in Spanish strongly preferred; background check and drug test may apply.

The Role

At Sovos, we're building the foundation for sustainable growth through rigorous, compliant revenue accounting. As a Senior Revenue Accountant, you'll ensure accurate global revenue recognition under ASC 606 while developing scalable processes and supporting the integration of newly acquired entities. This role is central to maintaining financial integrity as we expand organically and through acquisition across more than 70 countries.

More specifically, you will:

• Perform global revenue recognition accounting in compliance with ASC 606, ensuring accurate and timely recording of revenue across all product lines and geographies.
• Prepare and review monthly revenue journal entries, deferred revenue schedules, and related account reconciliations to support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
• Maintain and enhance revenue accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure consistency, compliance, and scalability across the organization.
• Identify opportunities to streamline and automate revenue accounting processes, working cross-functionally with IT, FP&A, and operational teams to implement improvements and leverage AI tools for review and analysis.
• Assist in post-acquisition integration of revenue accounting to ensure smooth transitions and consistent application of revenue recognition policies across newly acquired entities.
• Serve as a subject matter expert on ASC 606 matters, providing guidance and training to finance team members and cross-functional stakeholders as needed.

What We're Looking For

• Strong knowledge of ASC 606 revenue recognition principles and their practical application in a SaaS or software environment.
• At least 6 to 8 years of progressive accounting experience, with a minimum of 3 years focused on revenue recognition.
• CPA certification required or actively pursuing, or equivalent experience.
• Experience with ERP systems; NetSuite strongly preferred, and comfort with AI-assisted workflows and emerging financial technologies.
• Excellent organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-growth environment, paired with strong communication and collaboration abilities.
• High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy, with a continuous improvement mindset.
• Fluency in Spanish strongly preferred.
• Due to client contractual obligations, the successful candidate will be asked to clear a background check and drug test upon hire.
