Job summary

BDO USA, LLP is seeking a Technical Revenue Accountant to support government services accounting and financial reporting under U.S. GAAP. The role focuses on revenue recognition, ASC 606, contract analysis, and ERP-based setups.

Responsibilities include close processes, journal entries, and audits, with collaboration across project teams. Strong communication and detailed documentation are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• Five+ years of general accounting experience required.
• Experience with technical accounting and/or revenue recognition required.
• CPA, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensures proper application of revenue recognition policies and supports development of related best practices.
• Interprets and applies U.S. GAAP, including ASC 606, to new contract setup and arrangements in ERP.
• Reviews contracts and accounting scenarios to determine appropriate revenue treatment and timing of recognition.
• Partners with Principals and Project Managers on project status and milestone updates.
• Supports monthly and quarterly close activities related to revenue, including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Supports audit requests related to revenue accounting and financial reporting.
• Prepares ad hoc reports, analysis, and special projects, as needed.
• Other duties, as required.
