Job summary

Cologix, Inc. seeks a Senior Revenue Accountant to join our Accounting team. You will manage lease revenue accounting, support billing coordination and ensure timely month-end close. This role emphasizes accurate revenue recognition, accruals and deferrals, and audits.

You will collaborate with Billing, Sales and Finance to ensure proper revenue processes and controls. A CPA and 4–8 years of experience in a recurring-revenue environment are preferred, with a strong grasp of US GAAP.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required.
• CPA preferred.
• 4-8 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Experience with lease revenue recognition or revenue accounting in a recurring-revenue environment preferred.
• Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP, revenue recognition policies, accounts receivable reserve methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the NetLessor lease revenue system in NetSuite to support lease revenue accounting.
• Coordinate with Billing to align revenue billing and recognition timing, accruals and deferrals.
• Partner with Sales and Billing to ensure orders support proper revenue recognition.
• Monitor accounts receivable balances, evaluate collectability, and record reserves.
• Align sales commission expense recognition with related revenue and requirements.
• Ensure long-term revenue deferrals are recorded, reconciled and amortized.
• Support annual external audits with schedules and explanations of revenue activity.
• Prepare timely general ledger entries, reconciliations and documentation.
• Organize and maintain revenue accounting support.
• Own assigned close activities for timely month-end close.
• Analyze monthly fluctuations and explain to management.
• Research and resolve accounting issues and implement process improvements.

About the Position:

Cologix is seeking a Senior Revenue Accountant to join our Accounting organization. Reporting to the Controller, this role will be responsible for lease and other revenue accounting, with a focus on accurate revenue recognition, billing support, accounts receivable analysis, revenue accruals and deferrals, sales commission accounting, and timely month-end close activities.

What You’ll Do

• Maintain the NetLessor lease revenue system in NetSuite to support complete and accurate lease revenue accounting
• Coordinate with the Billing team to identify revenue billing and revenue recognition timing differences to ensure related accruals and deferrals are recorded appropriately
• Partner with Sales and Billing teams to confirm sales orders are structured to support proper revenue recognition
• Monitor accounts receivable balances, evaluate collectability, and record reserves in accordance with Company policy
• Align sales commission expense recognition with the related revenue and applicable accounting requirements
• Ensure long-term revenue deferrals are recorded, reconciled and amortized accurately
• Support the annual external audit by preparing schedules, responding to requests and explaining revenue-related activity
• Prepare timely and accurate general ledger entries, account reconciliations and supporting documentation
• Organize and maintain revenue accounting support
• Own assigned close activities to ensure a timely and accurate month-end close process
• Analyze monthly fluctuations and present clear explanations to management
• Research and resolve accounting issues, initiate corrective actions and record adjustments as needed
• Identify, develop and implement procedures and process improvements that strengthen revenue accounting operations and controls

What Makes You a Good Fit
