Job summary

Cologix is seeking a Senior Revenue Accountant to join our accounting team, focusing on lease revenue recognition, billing support and month-end close processes. This remote role reports to the Controller and collaborates with Sales and Billing to ensure accurate revenue recognition and timely close.

You will support annual audits, manage deferrals and reserves, and contribute to improving revenue accounting controls and processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; CPA preferred.
• 4–8 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Experience with lease revenue recognition or revenue accounting in a recurring-revenue environment preferred.
• Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP, revenue recognition policies, AR reserves and internal controls.
• Advanced Excel and Power Query experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain NetLessor lease revenue system in NetSuite to support accurate revenue accounting.
• Coordinate with Billing to align revenue timing and accruals/deferrals.
• Ensure proper structure of sales orders for revenue recognition.
• Monitor AR balances, evaluate collectability and record reserves.
• Align sales commission expense recognition with revenue and policies.
• Prepare timely GL entries, reconciliations, and documentation.
• Support annual external audit with schedules and responses.
• Own close activities to ensure timely month-end close.
• Analyze monthly fluctuations and explain variances to management.
• Identify process improvements to strengthen controls.

About the Position:

Cologix is seeking a Senior Revenue Accountant to join our Accounting organization. Reporting to the Controller, this role will be responsible for lease and other revenue accounting, with a focus on accurate revenue recognition, billing support, accounts receivable analysis, revenue accruals and deferrals, sales commission accounting, and timely month-end close activities.

What You’ll Do

• Maintain the NetLessor lease revenue system in NetSuite to support complete and accurate lease revenue accounting
• Coordinate with the Billing team to identify revenue billing and revenue recognition timing differences to ensure related accruals and deferrals are recorded appropriately
• Partner with Sales and Billing teams to confirm sales orders are structured to support proper revenue recognition
• Monitor accounts receivable balances, evaluate collectability, and record reserves in accordance with Company policy
• Align sales commission expense recognition with the related revenue and applicable accounting requirements
• Ensure long-term revenue deferrals are recorded, reconciled and amortized accurately
• Support the annual external audit by preparing schedules, responding to requests and explaining revenue-related activity
• Prepare timely and accurate general ledger entries, account reconciliations and supporting documentation
• Organize and maintain revenue accounting support
• Own assigned close activities to ensure a timely and accurate month-end close process
• Analyze monthly fluctuations and present clear explanations to management
• Research and resolve accounting issues, initiate corrective actions and record adjustments as needed
• Identify, develop and implement procedures and process improvements that strengthen revenue accounting operations and controls

What Makes You a Good Fit

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; CPA preferred
• 4–8 years of relevant accounting experience
• Experience with lease revenue recognition or revenue accounting in a recurring-revenue environment preferred
• Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP, revenue recognition policies, accounts receivable reserve methodologies and internal controls.
• Advanced Excel skills and a strong aptitude for technology; Power Query experience preferred
• Demonstrated ability to interpret, reconcile and analyze large data sets
• NetLessor SuiteApp and NetSuite experience preferred

Individual compensation will be commensurate with the candidate's experience.

This position will also be eligible for an annual bonus.
