Job summary

Fivetran, a leader in data pipelines, seeks a Senior Revenue Accountant to manage revenue recognition, close activities, and contract reviews in a fast-growing SaaS environment. You will support process automation, ensure ASC 606 compliance, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to scale end-to-end revenue processes as Fivetran and dbt Labs align post-merger.

Qualifications

• 5-8 years of revenue or public accounting experience.
• Deep knowledge of ASC 606 and revenue recognition in SaaS.
• Experience in high-growth SaaS environments with large datasets.
• Proficient in Excel and data analysis; strong documentation skills.
• Self-starter with ownership, collaboration across teams, and clear communication.

Responsibilities

• Execute monthly close activities in NetSuite with ASC 606 compliance.
• Review contracts for revenue implications and recognition.
• Assess non-standard revenue contracts for proper accounting.
• Draft technical accounting memos with audit-ready conclusions.
• Prepare system reconciliations and investigate variances.

About the Role

Fivetran is building data pipelines to power the modern data stack for thousands of companies.

We’re looking for a Senior Revenue Accountant to be responsible for timely and accurate revenue recognition and will report to the Revenue Manager.

This role will work on all aspects of the revenue accounting process to ensure accurate and complete financial information. This includes, but is not limited to, sales contract review for revenue implications and executing month‑end and year‑end close activities.

In addition, this position will require impeccable attention to detail and the ability to deliver results under deadlines. You will maintain best‑in‑class processes and controls to support the seamless execution of our revenue recognition activities and assist in the design, integration and testing of automated solutions to further scale and streamline revenue processes as Fivetran and dbt Labs, who merged in June 2026, work to align their end‑to‑end OTC processes.

Location: Oakland office; hybrid work model offers a blend of remote flexibility and in‑person collaboration, including two days in the office each week.

What You’ll Do

• Execute monthly accounting close activities and deliverables in NetSuite (i.e. journal entries, account reconciliations, analytics and reporting), in compliance with ASC 606
• Perform ongoing contract review of closed deals and ensure appropriateness of revenue inputs for revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606
• Assist in tracking and assessing non‑standard revenue contracts, as needed, for appropriateness of revenue recognition
• Draft and maintain technical accounting memos supporting judgmental revenue recognition positions, ensuring conclusions are well‑documented and audit‑ready
• Prepare revenue‑related system reconciliations, investigate variances, and ensure timely resolution
• Assist in design, data integration and testing of NetSuite ARM
• Participate in testing for revenue system enhancements to ensure new features support compliance and data integrity
• Clearly and completely document all processes and procedures in line with control activities
• Support SOX and internal control walkthroughs, testing, and documentation for the revenue cycle, partnering with internal and external auditors as needed
• Identify process improvements and assist in automation efforts to drive efficiency
• Participate in ad‑hoc projects, such as supporting external audit requirements

Required Experience

• 5‑8 years of combined experience in revenue and/or public accounting
• Strong working knowledge of ASC 606
• Experience working in high‑growth, SaaS companies
• Advanced Excel skills and ability to work with large datasets
• Meticulous, well‑organized, and able to thrive in an environment of changing processes
• Passion for process, continuous improvement, and leveraging technology
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; clear, thoughtful, and service‑oriented approach
• Self‑starter with a strong sense of ownership over work and the team
• Confidence and curiosity when approaching new learning experiences
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively across functions in a fast‑paced environment

Preferred Experience

• Experience with NetSuite ARM, Salesforce, Rocketlane, Stripe, SQL
• Revenue recognition work in the SaaS industry with subscription, usage/consumption and professional services revenue
• ERP system implementations, mergers and other process improvements
• CPA License

Compensation Range: $109,987 — $131,989.50 USD. The range reflects target base pay for the role and may include incentives or bonuses.
