Job summary

Transamerica in Cedar Rapids, IA seeks a Senior Document Ops Plan Specialist to manage retirement plan documents for 401(a), 401(k), 403(b), 457, and NQDC plans. You will prepare amendments and funding documents, ensuring accuracy and regulatory alignment.

You will collaborate with clients, counsel, and internal teams on complex plan design changes and document workflows, leveraging five years of retirement plan experience and MS Office proficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field
• Five years of pension/retirement plan experience
• In-depth knowledge of retirement plan regulations and plan documents
• Strong customer focus, communication and interpersonal skills
• Analytical skills and attention to detail
• Decision-making and problem-solving skills
• Organizational skills
• Proficiency using MS Office tools

Responsibilities

• Prepare plan documents, summary plan descriptions, amendments and funding documents for new and existing clients; verify accrued benefits are protected and documents align with system setup
• Consult with clients, counsel, advisors and internal teams regarding complex plan design changes and business risks
• Consult with outside counsel or senior management regarding requested contract and service agreement changes
• Research client plan design/compliance situations and assist with high-level escalations
• Review, analyze and consult on plan mergers and spin-offs to protect accrued benefits
• Develop plan filing packages for IRS determinations letters
• Assist with plan terminations and develop project plans and filings for regulators
• Mentor and assist lower-level staff
