Zenith American Solutions in Sparks Corner, MD is seeking a Senior Retirement Benefits Specialist to perform advanced technical and administrative duties for processing and verifying retirement benefit inquiries and applications, in line with plan guidelines and regulatory requirements.

The role requires handling PHI/PII with discretion, responding to participant inquiries, and supporting QDROs, balance checks, and monthly benefit distributions, while assisting with special projects and reports.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience processing retirement benefits.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business materials and regulations.
• Ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing.
• Strong discretion handling sensitive information.
• Excellent organization and attention to detail.
• Proficiency with MS Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Maintains current knowledge of assigned Plan(s).
• Processes retirement benefit applications; verifies information and researches past service.
• Responds to inquiries from participants, beneficiaries, and union representatives.
• Determines benefit eligibility and requests documentation to expedite processing.
• Prepares correspondence regarding account information and retirement history.
• Performs data entry and updates member information in systems.
• Processes QDROs and runs checks for overpayments and suspensions.
• Prepares committee and monthly statistical reports.
• Assists with Annual Benefit Statements and special projects.
