Job summary

American Eagle Outfitters, Inc. is seeking a Sr. Retail Designer to lead design and development of new retail spaces and renovations in the United States.

This role focuses on translating brand standards into compelling store environments and collaborating with cross-functional teams to execute design solutions that align with the brand. You will manage projects through concept to construction, develop layouts, elevations, and detail packages, and ensure compliance with local codes and landlord

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or equivalent.
• Minimum of 5–7 years in Retail Design, Store Planning, Architecture, or equivalent.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD (latest release), Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp & rendering software.
• Ability to interpret & visualize architectural drawings and details.
• Strong understanding of architectural drawing standards and construction detailing.

Responsibilities

• Manage assigned design projects from concept through construction with guidance from leadership.
• Translate brand standards into design solutions for new stores and renovations.
• Develop design strategies to adapt designs to atypical spaces.
• Research materials, fixtures and trends to support retail environment improvements.
• Collaborate with internal partners to solve design challenges throughout the project lifecycle.
• Prepare presentation materials and renderings for design reviews.
• Ensure prototype designs meet landlord criteria, codes, and signage requirements.
• Coordinate with Store Ops and Visual Merchandising to meet functional requirements.
