Job summary

Stellantis is seeking a Restraint Design Release Engineer (DRE) to lead the design, development and release of restraint components and systems for vehicle programs. You will work with suppliers and cross-functional teams to manage change notices, compliance reports and core documentation (DVPR, DFMEA).

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering.
• Minimum of 8 years of automotive engineering experience.
• Highly motivated and driven to achieve goals.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
• Good communication, problem solving, computer and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and release restraint components and systems for Stellantis vehicle programs, including steering wheel, seat belts and/or airbags.
• Collaborate with suppliers and cross-functional teams; write change notices and compliance reports; manage program documentation (DVPR, DFMEA).
• Monitor program timing, deliverables and issue resolution during development and serial life (warranty); support plants for pre-production, production launch and serial life builds.
• Develop and manage passive safety restraint requirements and, for steering wheel responsibilities, capacitive hands-on detection and heating (electrical and performance) requirements.
• Package and develop the complete restraint system with other Stellantis engineering organizations; interface with purchasing, product design office, manufacturing and supply base groups.
• Review testing, parts, data and best practices to meet FMVSS, ECE and other global certifications.
