The primary purpose of the Senior Respiratory Therapist Registered (SRTR) position is to provide oversight and leadership in the absence of the Respiratory Therapy Clinical Supervisor. Upon the order of the physician, administers pulmonary therapeutic and diagnostic procedures, and sets up, operates, monitors, and manages various types of respiratory equipment utilized in the treatment, management, control, and care of patients of all ages with deficiencies and abnormalities of the cardiorespiratory system. Works primarily in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and collaborates with nurses and physicians in the implementation of individualized care plans.
• Associate’s Degree (Bachelor’s Degree preferred) in relevant sciences.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist, licensed by the New Jersey Board of Respiratory Care.
• Three (3) years of clinical experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist required; five (5) years preferred.
• Strong clinical and communication skills.
• Reliable in attendance and on-time performance.
• Proficient knowledge of MS Excel and MS Word as well as analytical skills.
• Excellent attitude, customer service-oriented, and works well with co-workers and other health care givers.
• Knowledgeable, resourceful, and cooperative.
• Must possess the ability, education, and training required to meet the needs of patients of all ages based on age and developmental status.
• Successful completion of study from a program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC).
• Must possess the Registry (RRT) credential from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) as a Registered Respiratory Therapist.
• Must have a valid license issued by the New Jersey State Board of Respiratory Care.
• Current BLS certificate is required and successful completion of all mandatory competencies and training as required by the Joint Commission, DOH, and other regulatory agencies.
