Job summary

Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center in New York seeks a Senior Respiratory Therapist to deliver advanced respiratory care across inpatient units, critical care, emergency response and outpatient clinics.

You will assess and manage patients with complex respiratory conditions requiring ventilatory support and airway management, while partnering with leadership on operations, staff development, quality improvement and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Licensed to practice as a Registered Respiratory Therapist in New York State.
• Current BLS certification.
• Current ACLS certification.
• Bachelor’s degree from a CoARC-accredited Respiratory Therapy program with 1 year of full-time experience.
• Alternatively, an Associate’s degree from a CoARC-accredited program with 3 years of full-time experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced respiratory care across inpatient units, ICUs, ER and outpatient clinics.
• Assess and manage patients with complex respiratory conditions and ventilatory support needs.
• Lead clinical resources and mentor staff; coordinate workflow and quality improvement.
• Ensure adherence to safety, regulatory standards and daily operations in collaboration with leadership.

The Senior Respiratory Therapist provides advanced respiratory care and serves as a senior clinical resource across inpatient units, critical care areas, emergency response, and outpatient clinics. Assesses and manages patients with complex respiratory conditions requiring specialized expertise in ventilatory support, airway management, respiratory treatments, and emergency interventions. Partners with leadership to support daily clinical operations, staff development, workflow coordination, quality improvement activities, and adherence to clinical, safety, and regulatory standards. Compensation: Base hourly rate: $33.41 Geographical Differential: $6.93 Total Hourly Rate: $40.34 We offer a comprehensive benefits package.## **Qualifications:**Required Education and Experience License and Certification Requirements 1. License to practice as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) in the State of New York; and 2. Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS); and 3. Current certification in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS). Education and Experience 1. Bachelor’s degree from a Respiratory Therapy program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC) and the equivalent of one (1) year of full-time experience in respiratory therapy or a related healthcare field; or 2. Associate’s degree from a Respiratory Therapy program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC) and the equivalent of three (3) years of full-time experience in respiratory therapy or a related healthcare field.
