Qualifications

• Licensed RCP by California
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential
• Competent in four PIH Health areas (ICU/ED, PFT, Anesthesia Assistant, Hyperbaric, Bronchoscopy Assistant, Shift Lead, Pulmonary Navigator, New Employee/Student Preceptor)
• NBRC credentials: CPFT/RPFT/NPS/ACCS
• 12 years’ PIH experience or BS in allied health
• Quality Improvement project or education activity presented at dept meeting
• Maintain ACLS, BCLS and PALS certifications
• Must have and maintain LA County Fire Card (6 months to obtain if not present)
• NRP may be required at certain locations

Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory care management and treatment per patient age group
• Assess data and interpret information to identify patient needs
• Follow department policies and procedures
• Address biophysical, educational and environmental needs of patients and families
• Utilize approved processes for patient care and ensure safety and quality
