Job summary

Talented Medical Solutions seeks a Respiratory Therapist to deliver basic and complex respiratory care to adults and geriatric patients. You will document and bill for services, supervise others as delegated, and support department operations in a fast-paced clinical setting.

The role includes administering therapies, monitoring ventilated patients, performing ABGs, and educating patients and families. Strong compliance with policies and continuous improvement are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher preferred
• Master's Degree preferred
• Three years' technical experience preferred
• NBRC credentials required or NBRC-credentialed
• RCP license required
• BLS/CPR required
• ACLS required
• NRP preferred
• PALS preferred
• PEARS preferred
• NBRC credentialed or NBRC registered required

Responsibilities

• Assess and document the appropriateness of prescribed respiratory therapy and recommendations.
• Administer aerosol and oxygen therapy with accurate patient charts.
• Draw arterial blood gases per physician order and policy.
• Provide care for mechanically ventilated patients.
• Assist with department operations, record keeping, and training of new staff.
• Document treatments, maintain records, and complete charge documentation.
• Assist nursing staff with patient and equipment monitoring.
• Perform pulmonary function tests and related procedures.
• Monitor patient progress and adjust therapy as needed.
• Provide cardiopulmonary rehabilitation support.
• Educate patients and families about respiratory disease and treatment.
• Conduct routine checks of respiratory therapy equipment.
• Ensure compliance with ventilator and VAP bundle protocols.
• Evaluate patient outcomes and modify therapy accordingly.
• Update patient diagnoses based on clinical condition changes.
• Maintain and clean respiratory therapy equipment.
• Serve as a resource for physicians and hospital staff.
• Assist with inventory, ordering, and specialty equipment setup.
• Assist physicians during bronchoscopies and other procedures.
• Support quality control, staff scheduling, and competency programs.
• Perform other related duties as assigned
