Job summary

Providence St. Joseph Hospital Of Orange seeks a Sr Respiratory Care Practitioner to deliver respiratory care across adult, pediatric, and neonatal units. The role includes performing blood gas analysis, reporting results, and collaborating with the care team to ensure high-quality patient outcomes.

Required qualifications include CA RCP license, AMA-certified program, and BLS; ACLS/PALS within 90 days, with at least one year of critical care in adult/neonatal ICU.

Qualifications

• Certification from a Respiratory Therapy Program or a 2-year AMA-approved certificate.
• California Respiratory Care Practitioner license required upon hire.
• National Provider BLS certification upon hire (American Heart Association).
• ACLS certification due within 90 days of hire (American Heart Association).
• PALS certification due within 90 days of hire (American Heart Association).
• At least 1 year of critical care experience in adult and neonatal ICU.

Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory care appropriate to adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients.
• Perform all blood gas analysis duties: stick, draw, analysis, and reporting.

Job description

Under the direction of the Supervisor/Manager/Director, the Sr RCP will provide respiratory care appropriate to the area of assignment, adult, pediatric, and neonatal. Perform all duties of blood gas analysis including stick, draw, analysis and reporting.

Required qualifications:

• Certification from a Respiratory Therapy Program, Or
• Completion of 2-year certificate from an AMA approved Respiratory Therapy Program.
• Upon hire: California Respiratory Care Practitioner License.
• Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association.
• Within 90 days of hire: National Provider ACLS - American Heart Association.
• Within 90 days of hire: National Provider PALS - American Heart Association.
• 1 year Critical care experience in adult and neonatal intensive care.

Preferred qualifications:

• Upon hire: PALS Instructor
• Upon hire: Instructor Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association.
• Experience as charge or Lead Respiratory Care Practitioner.
