Job summary

PEG, LLC, based in Fairfax, VA, seeks a Senior Residential Mechanical Designer to lead HVAC design projects with high performance and code-compliant outcomes. You will mentor teammates, improve design processes, and ensure client satisfaction.

role requires 3+ years' residential HVAC experience, strong AutoCAD and Wrightsoft skills, and knowledge of ACCA manuals and IECC energy codes. Hybrid schedule in Fairfax, VA anticipated.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• Minimum 3+ years of residential HVAC design experience.
• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD and HVAC load calculations.
• Strong knowledge of ACCA Manual J/D/S, IECC, ENERGY STAR.

Responsibilities

• Lead HVAC load calculations, duct sizing, and equipment sizing per ACCA standards.
• Serve as senior technical resource for design teams and QA/QC reviews.
• Mentor junior staff and develop technical processes.
• Coordinate with clients, builders, architects, and internal teams.
• Maintain project documentation and compliance with codes.
