Job summary

Human Learning Systems in Minot, ND seeks a Full-Time Service Worker to oversee dormitory operations as Senior Residential Advisor during weekends and off-peak hours. You will ensure students meet schedules, are prepared, and supervised in daily living tasks, with counseling support as needed.

Responsibilities

• Oversees the Center’s operations as the Senior Residential Advisor during weekends and other hours not managed by a supervisor.
• Ensures students meet schedules, wake up on time and are on time for school or work assignments.
• Ensures students are adequately prepared for the training day and dressed appropriately.
• Provides daily supervision or assistance in monitoring students in personal hygiene, room/chore assignments, recreation, cafeteria and transportation.
• Provides informal counseling related to stress management and personal issues.
• Operates the dormitory area, coordinates services, conducts counseling and assists students in daily living needs.
• Maintains student files and dormitory areas and annotates logs for daily observations.
• Contacts family members for consent for pass system when warranted.
• Performs and documents perimeter checks for safety and security and attends training sessions.

Full Time Service Worker Minot, ND, US

Salary Range: $17.79 To $20.00 Hourly

Description of Duties

• Oversees the Center’s operations as the Senior Residential Advisor during the weekends and other hours that are not managed by a manager or director.
• Ensures that students meet required schedule, waking on time and being on time for school or work assignment.
• Ensures that students are adequately prepared for the training day; students are dressed appropriately, etc.
• Provides daily supervision or assistance in monitoring students in personal hygiene, room/chore assignments, special recreation activities, cafeteria monitoring, transportation, and programmed activities.
• Provides informal counseling related to stress management, personal problems, emergency or home situations, etc., and provides insight into responsible behavior and attitudes.
• Operates dormitory area, coordinates services, conducts counseling and resolves problems, and assists student in their daily living needs.
• Maintains student files and dormitory areas.
• Prepares reports and forms and annotates logs to ensure accurate documentation of daily observations of student’s progress, performance, behavior and attitudes, staff breaks, emergency information, communication information, references to critical information contained in folders.
• Contacts family members for consent for pass system as warranted.
• Performs and documents regular perimeter checks of dorm and outside perimeter to ensure safety and security.
• Attends all training sessions and staff meetings as scheduled.

Education/Experience

• High School Diploma or GED.
• One year experience working with youth and young adults
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check!
• As a Federal Contractor, while North Dakota law may allow individuals to consume marijuana if they have a qualifying medical condition, marijuana is still illegal under federal law. A positive drug screen with a medical marijuana card will result in an offer not being made.
