Job summary

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey is seeking a Senior Resident Engineer to lead day-to-day contractor activities at PATH facilities in Jersey City, NJ. You will manage Stage IV construction contracts, coordinate with operations, monitor inspections, and handle contract administration to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.

You will oversee staff, maintain schedules, control costs, and report progress to EOC and executives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Engineering or Architecture from an accredited college or university.
• At least ten years of construction management experience, including three years as Resident Engineer.
• CCM certification or equivalent credential.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain SWAC/TWIC as required.

Responsibilities

• Supervising a staff of Engineers, Inspectors and Administrators to ensure high quality construction.
• Ensuring field inspector narratives, inspections, and reports are performed timely.
• Monitoring contractor adherence to plans and safety, coordinating with Facility Operations.
• Stage IV Construction Manager for schedule, milestones and closeout, with mitigation planning.
• Manage budgets, payments, change orders, and settlement of contractor claims.
• Regularly report construction project status to the Engineer of Construction and executives.
• Ensure WINTRAK is utilized and updated per CMD protocols.
• Monitor Submittals, SAR approvals and RFIs; coordinate with other divisions.
• Enforce Construction Management Division procedures and policies.
• Mentor and train staff to achieve business objectives.
