Job summary

INEOS Energy Petroleum USA Inc. in Houston seeks a Senior Reservoir Engineer to provide reservoir engineering support across producing assets, developments, and new projects.

You will conduct surveillance, PTA, history matching, and production optimization, while developing models and forecasts to inform reserves and economics. The ideal candidate has 10+ years' deepwater Gulf experience, strong collaboration with geoscience and operations, and proven project management and reporting skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering or Reservoir Engineering required.
• Minimum of 10 years’ deepwater Gulf of America experience in oil and gas, operated and non-operated assets.
• Proficiency in reservoir engineering analytics and simulation methods (well test analysis, reservoir modelling, reservoir simulations, PVT, production forecasting).
• Ability to write technical reports and to present information effectively.
• Proven project management skills with pragmatic, technically sound recommendations.
• Ability to structure work around deadlines and multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong collaboration with operators, partners, asset teams and specialists.

Responsibilities

• Provide reservoir engineering support across producing assets, developments, and new projects, including surveillance, PTA, simulation, history matching, optimization, forecasting and reserves evaluation.
• Design and support evaluation programs for exploration and appraisal, including log, fluid and core analysis.
• Develop and maintain reservoir models, generate forecasts and reserve estimates, and support reserves reporting and economics.
• Monitor well, reservoir and asset performance; analyze trends, identify root causes and recommend actions.
• Collaborate with geoscience, production, drilling, commercial, regulatory and partner teams to align evaluations with business goals.
• Support technical assurance, portfolio management and decision-making by assessing performance vs forecasts and reserves.
• Build strong relationships with operators and partners, acting as a technical advisor and providing experience-based recommendations.
• Prepare clear technical reports and presentations; promote high-quality data and efficient workflows; identify process improvements and innovative strategies.
