Job summary

Versiti Blood Research Institute is seeking a researcher who develops, improves, and implements laboratory techniques and conducts complex experiments to advance ongoing research projects. You will maintain detailed records, troubleshoot assays, and coordinate resources with the PI and team.

The role supports publication and presentation activities, with responsibilities spanning experimental work, data interpretation, and adherence to regulatory standards in a dynamic laboratory environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in biology, chemistry or equivalent scientific discipline required
• Master's Degree preferred
• 4-6 years relevant research laboratory experience required
• Demonstrated ability to interpret and explain theoretical basis of work; perform procedures independently
• Highly organized with strong communication and analytical skills

Responsibilities

• In collaboration with Principal Investigator develops, improves, and implements laboratory techniques and performs complex experiments
• Troubleshoots assays and customizes experimental tools to answer research questions
• Coordinates external and internal resources necessary for completion of research plan
• May provide direction to laboratory group and trainees and/or supervisory duties
• Participates in publication and presentation of research
• Performs other duties as required to support scientific projects in the lab

Responsibilities

• In collaboration with Principal Investigator develops, improves, and implements laboratory techniques and performs complex experiments or tests to contribute to the timely and accurate completion of the research project(s) including clear and complete records of all experimental work.
• Troubleshoots assays and customizes experimental tools to answer research questions.
• Coordinates external and internal resources necessary for completion of research plan.
• May provide direction to laboratory group and trainees and/or may have supervisory or administrative capacities within the laboratory group
• Participates in publication and presentation of research.
• Performs other duties as required or assigned to technically support scientific projects in the lab and other tasks that are assigned by Principal Investigator
• Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties in this job classification
• Understands and performs in accordance with all applicable regulatory and compliance requirements
• Complies with all standard operating policies and procedures
