Overview
The senior research technician role will assist scientists in performing scientific research, development and/or clinical tasks of varying complexity. In general, they will assist in the set up, operation and maintenance of laboratory instruments and equipment, monitoring experiments, making observations and calculating and recording results.

Responsibilities
We intend to hire a senior research technician in the laboratory of Dr. Daphne Haas-Kogan to support pre-clinical research focused on identifying and validating targeted therapies for pediatric gliomas. The individual will help with projects that aim to characterize the anti-tumor activity of various clinical agents in vitroandin vivomodels and the molecular mechanism of action and drug resistance.
The ideal candidate will have prior laboratoryresearchexperience involvingin vivo mice experiments (at least a year), mammalian cell culture, basic molecular biology techniques (e.g PCR, cloning, RNA extraction, plasmid DNA isolation, Western blotting), and biological database mining.
The candidate is expected to be highly organized and should be able to perform experiments independently under minimal supervision. The applicant must demonstrate outstanding personal initiative and the ability to work effectively in a team. The individual will be an integral member of the research group and will provide intellectual input, participate in lab meetings, and work collaboratively with members of the lab.
