Job summary

The University at Buffalo's Center for Research and Education in Special Environments (CRESE) seeks a Senior Research Support Specialist to manage grant-funded studies and assist researchers in physiology experiments on the South Campus.

Strong interpersonal skills, independence, and problem-solving ability are essential as you lead data collection, recruitment, and daily study operations, while supporting faculty, graduate students, and staff.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with exercise physiology techniques and diagnostic exercise equipment preferred.
• Ability to learn common computer-based programs used in physiology research.
• Experience running grant-funded research studies or similar projects is advantageous.
• Strong interpersonal skills, independence, and problem-solving ability are essential.

Responsibilities

• Perform a wide variety of complex experiments and report results to principal investigators.
• Lead participant recruitment, screenings, data collection, data entry and analyses.
• Provide support for faculty investigators, research team members, and graduate students to ensure adherence to study protocols and support daily study operations.
• Maintain accurate and detailed participant records through timely documentation and data entry, in compliance with university policies and applicable standards.
• Engage with research participants in a professional manner to ensure participant recruitment, screening, enrollment, and retention.
• May train students and junior-level staff.
