Job summary

The Center for Discovery and Innovation (CDI) at Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a Senior Research Specialist to assist in the daily functions of the laboratory and to conduct experiments. The candidate will design experiments, maintain detailed records, and collaborate across departments to advance cancer and infectious disease research.

Qualifications include a Bachelor’s in a lab field, 4+ years’ experience, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's diploma/degree in lab specific field or other relevant area of study.
• Minimum of 4 or more years of experience.
• Meticulous record keeping to ensure integrity of the data.
• Must be able to work independently and have a strong work ethic.
• Lab specific technical skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite.
• Must be flexible in work schedule (weekends/late studies).

Responsibilities

• Independently designs and performs experiments within an assigned project and reviews progress.
• Assures quality, cost effectiveness, and timeliness of assigned projects.
• Participates in formulating research methods and suggesting options for improving quality.
• Identifies problems and recommends long-term solutions.
• Performs data collection, screening and verifying data.
• Analyzes results and interprets research methodology.
• Manages specialized research laboratory functions.
• Trains new personnel and investigators in listed methods.
