Job Description

The Red Gate Group is seeking an accomplished Senior Research Specialist IV to support the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition and Sustainment (USD(A&S)) in Arlington, VA. This critical role involves providing high-level expertise to advance strategic initiatives and ensure operational success across diverse and complex areas, including acquisition systems, logistics, research and development, environmental and nuclear security, and more. As a trusted advisor, you will collaborate closely with senior leadership to shape policies and processes that underpin national defense priorities.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide specialized guidance on DoD policy, product support, and logistics to support USD(A&S) objectives.
  2. Lead and manage multiple high-complexity projects, offering technical expertise and ensuring successful outcomes.
  3. Conduct in-depth research and analysis to inform decision-making on acquisition systems, advanced technology, and operational energy programs.
  4. Collaborate with executive-level stakeholders to address challenges, streamline processes, and achieve mission-critical goals.
  5. Deliver tailored solutions that align with the DoD’s overarching strategies and operational mandates.
  6. Maintain the highest levels of customer service by demonstrating initiative, sound judgment, and innovative thinking.
  7. Prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively while maintaining focus on delivering high-quality results.
Qualifications
  1. Security Clearance: Active Top Secret/SCI required.
  2. Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university (Master’s degree preferred).
  3. Experience: Minimum of 10 years of specialized experience in DoD policy, product support, and logistics. Experience providing executive-level support and working within DoD or other federal agencies is required.
  4. Expertise: Proven ability to lead and manage high-complexity projects, providing technical guidance and driving mission success.
  5. Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication abilities, exceptional organizational skills, and the capacity to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
