Job summary

Ai2, a Seattle-based AI research institute, is hiring a Senior Research Scientist to train and advance fully open foundation models. You will lead research, build training pipelines, curate data, and contribute to multimodal model development in a fast-paced environment.

You’ll collaborate with academic and industry partners, publish in peer-reviewed venues, and help scale software systems that support cutting-edge AI research at Ai2.

Qualifications

• PhD level in AI/ML or related domains.
• Extensive work experience publishing and applying research.
• Experience building/training foundation models and data curation.
• Experience with agentic training and multimodal data.

Responsibilities

• Provide scientific leadership and define ground-breaking research.
• Lead small teams and oversee software systems supporting research.
• Publish papers and present at peer-reviewed venues.
• Build collaborative relationships with academia, industry and standards bodies.
