Job summary

Lockheed Martin is seeking an experienced technical leader in Fort Worth, TX to drive SLO research and integration for the F-22 program. You will coordinate cross-functional teams across engineering, production, and test to advance LO technologies and reduce signatures while preserving aircraft performance.

The role emphasizes modeling, material selection, and test campaigns, with opportunities to engage with government customers and program offices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics or related field.
  • Experience with Radar Measurement Technology.
  • F-22 LO maintenance/troubleshooting experience.
  • Experience interfacing with contractors, military customers, and depot management.
  • Experience with Repair Verification Radar (RVR) or zonal RCS equipment.
  • Familiarity with F-22 airframe design and LO materials.
  • Military service preferred.
  • Project management experience with strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Strong written and oral communication; ability to engage with SMEs across functions.
  • Experience in low observables (LO), survivability, or susceptibility.
  • Experience in radar cross section (RCS) design and LO materials/processes.
  • Experience applying aircraft spray material including LO material.

Responsibilities

  • Lead advanced research, development, and integration of SLO technologies for the F-22 program.
  • Define and prioritize SLO research topics (materials, geometry, coatings, active signature management).
  • Lead cross-functional IPTs to integrate LO solutions into air-vehicle designs, test plans, and production processes.
  • Develop high-fidelity signature-prediction models (RCS, IR, visual) and validate against flight-test data.
  • Use computational electromagnetics (CEM) tools and RCS budgeting to assess design trade-offs.
  • Guide selection and qualification of LO-compatible materials, coatings, and treatments.
  • Plan and execute ground- and flight-test campaigns (RCS, IR, NVIS) for SLO concepts.
  • Establish procedures for LO maintenance, field diagnostics, and repair.
  • Interface with government customers, program office, and supplier teams.
  • Author technical data packages and ensure DoD export-control compliance.
