Mid-Atlantic Permanente Medical Group (MAPMG) invites applications for the position of Research Scientist III (Infectious Disease Epidemiology/Health Services Research), a senior role to join MAPRI. This is a full-time position based in Capitol Hill, Washington, D.C., with a hybrid work model.

The successful candidate will design and implement major investigator-initiated health services and epidemiology research projects, secure extramural funding, publish regularly, mentor MAPMG staff, and

Qualifications

• PhD or MD with advanced research degree required.
• Extensive experience in infectious disease research with emphasis on HIV or other communicable diseases preferred.
• Minimum of eleven years of post-doctoral research experience in epidemiology/health services research.
• Successful track record of extramural grant funding as Principal Investigator.
• Strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals.
• Ability to design and lead multiple original studies including multi-site work.
• Must be able to travel to the Washington DC regional office quarterly.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement major investigator-initiated health services and epidemiology research projects in infectious diseases.
• Secure external funding through federal, foundation, or industry grants.
• Disseminate findings through peer-reviewed publications and conference presentations.
• Collaborate with MAPRI teams and external partners; mentor MAPMG staff and interns.
• Contribute to scientific community as a peer reviewer and grant panelist.
