Job summary

Snorkel AI is seeking a Staff or Senior Research Scientist to lead development of frontier benchmarks and datasets. You will design datasets with academic partners, influence company strategy, and scale research into production in collaboration with delivery, product, and GTM teams.

You will report to the Head of Research and thrive in a role that blends research, data operations, and commercial impact, while engaging with customers and partners to advance data-centric AI.

Qualifications

• Strong research background in AI/ML evaluation and NLP.
• Proven ability to design rigorous experiments to measure data impact on models.
• Exceptional communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Comfort in fast-moving cross-functional environments with ambiguity.
• Interest in GTM strategy and startup dynamics.

Responsibilities

• Design state-of-the-art datasets to drive frontier model training and evaluation.
• Translate benchmark insights into narratives for ROI in customer materials.
• Collaborate across data operations, product, engineering, and strategy.
• Stay at the frontier of LLM evaluation research and integrate best practices.
• Represent Snorkel's research through publications, talks, and customer engagements.
