Job summary

The Hantman Lab in the Neuroscience Center at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill seeks a Research Scientist to study brain circuits involved in motor control, learning, and recovery in models of disease and stroke. Qualifications

  • Candidates must have substantial prior neuroscience research experience, including experience analyzing neural, behavioral, imaging, or other brain-related data.
  • Proficiency with MATLAB and/or Python is required.
  • Experience mentoring or training junior researchers is required.

Responsibilities

  • Design and perform experiments in neuroscience and behavior.
  • Lead independent research projects and mentor trainees.
  • Analyze complex datasets including neural, behavioral, and imaging data.
  • Collaborate with lab members and manage project milestones.
  • Develop and troubleshoot custom software/hardware for experiments.
  • Contribute to manuscripts and grant applications.
