This is a grant funded position through August 2028, renewable based upon availability of funding, work performance, and progress toward programmatic goals. The Senior Research Program Coordinator will serve as the primary coordinator for community outreach and engagement for the Coordinating Center for Colorectal Cancer Screening across Texas (CONNECT). CONNECT is a grant-funded initiative aiming to support, improve, and increase colorectal cancer screening efforts throughout the state of Texas.
Purpose
The Senior Research Program Coordinator for CONNECT is responsible for managing and coordinating community outreach and engagement efforts for the Coordinating Center for Colorectal Cancer Screening across Texas (CONNECT). The coordinator will develop and maintain relationships with partner organizations, compile resources, conduct literature reviews, and facilitate advocacy efforts. This position requires strong organizational, communication, and research skills, and involves collaboration with various stakeholders, including healthcare providers, community organizations, and research teams.
Responsibilities
Program Coordination
Coordinate meetings, prepare agendas, and maintain minutes. Track grant goals and objectives related to outreach and engagement. Provide data and program updates for quarterly and annual reports. Collect and maintain study-related program documents. Maintain Institutional Review Board approval and compliance standards.
Research and Writing
Conduct literature reviews on colorectal cancer screening best practices. Develop reports and summaries with recommendations based on best practices. Identify resources and care pathways for patients.
Stakeholder and Partner Engagement
Develop and maintain relationships with CRC screening partner organizations. Create and disseminate guides on resources, protocols, and evidence-based strategies. Maintain a repository of CRC screening resources across Texas.
Communication Strategies and Messaging
Support the development of improved messaging for hard-to-reach populations. Conduct focus groups to ensure messaging is culturally appropriate. Develop surveys to assess knowledge and intend to screen. Manage primary data collection and maintain databases. Assist in compiling and disseminating health education toolkits.
Pilot Program Support
Update request for proposal documents annually. Track applications and review for completion. Coordinate with Steering Committee members regarding program evaluation.
Advocacy
Facilitate advocacy efforts to improve access to CRC screening and treatment. Increase available resources such as financial support.
Marginal or Periodic Functions:
Develop and Maintain Social Media Accounts. Create content and manage social media presence for CONNECT initiatives. Organize and Facilitate Workshops and Conferences. Plan and execute events to promote CRC screening and community engagement. Collaborating with External Researchers. Partner with external research teams on related studies and projects. Adheres to internal controls and reporting structure. Performs related duties as required.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in public health, Health Promotion, Community Health, or related field. 5 years of experience in cancer program coordination, community engagement, and health services program or research implementation. Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in public health, Health Promotion, Community Health, or related field. 5+ years of experience in community and clinical setting-based cancer prevention program coordination and oversight. Experience with human subjects’ regulatory requirements and IRB procedures. Experience in Developing Program Procedures and Protocols. Proficiency in Data Collection and Organization. Experience Collaborating with Clinics and Healthcare Systems. Certification in Public Health (CPH). Certification in Clinical Research (CCRP).
Salary Range
$56,000 + depending on qualifications
