Job summary

E Source is seeking a Senior Managing Consultant to lead applied research and evaluation engagements from design through delivery, shaping evidence-based client recommendations. You will guide multidisciplinary teams, manage scope and budget, and mentor colleagues to strengthen delivery quality.

You will advise clients with technical and business judgment, develop scopes of work, and identify opportunities to expand engagements while ensuring clear, defensible deliverables for utility clients.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience leading applied research, evaluation, or consulting engagements from design through delivery.
• Expertise in qualitative research methods and familiarity with quantitative or mixed-method evaluation approaches.
• Proven ability to manage client relationships, project scope, budgets, timelines, risks, and multidisciplinary project teams.
• Strong client-ready writing, presentation, facilitation, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of applied research and evaluation engagements from design through delivery.
• Guide multidisciplinary teams and manage client relationships and deliverables.
• Develop high-quality client deliverables and executive summaries that connect evidence to action.
• Manage project budgets, scope, timelines, and staffing to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.
• Mentor junior staff and contribute to team development and quality improvement.
• Identify opportunities to expand or deepen client work and support proposals.
