A leading company in materials and solutions seeks an R&D professional to manage projects in polymer processing technologies. The role involves designing experiments, analyzing results, and collaborating with various teams to enhance production processes and product development.
The candidate will work within CRL Processing Technology team. The team works closely with various Saint-Gobain business units to improve production processes, solve problems, and develop new products. The candidate is expected to manage R&D projects involving polymer processing technologies such as extrusion, compounding and injection molding. The projects will be executed on laboratory and pilot-scale equipment at the R&D center, and in collaboration with our manufacturing sites. The candidate is expected to create and execute project plans, design and conduct experiments, analyze results, and present findings in written and oral formats. The ability to communicate across all levels of the organization will be an important part of this role.
Manufacturing experience in any of the above areas as well as experience with 3D CAD tools and FEA, CFD simulation software for polymers is preferable but not required. The candidate is expected to collaborate effectively with other R&D groups and engineering colleagues within other Saint-Gobain manufacturing locations, application engineers and external customers. In addition to the primary projects, the candidate will be expected to support projects led by others.
Essential Functions
Required Qualifications
BS Degree with a minimum of 12 years of experience, or MS with 7+ years of experience, or a PhD level with 3+ years of experience plus demonstrated technical and scientific accomplishments in polymer processing, polymer science, mechanical engineering or other related fields.
