Job summary

University of Louisville seeks a Research Coordinator V to support wastewater-based epidemiology initiatives within the Envirome Institute/Microbiology and Immunology. You will coordinate with multiple laboratories, prepare samples, and perform data analysis to detect targeted pathogens using nucleic acid techniques and sequencing.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor’s degree in a related field with 2 years of research experience; a Master’s degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field and two (2) years relevant research experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Preferred qualifications include a Master’s degree in a related field and two years of relevant experience.
• Experience with molecular detection of pathogens, wastewater-based epidemiology (WBE), and molecular epidemiology is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Prepare environmental and laboratory samples for nucleic acid analysis on a weekly schedule.
• Use nucleic acid analyses such as RT-qPCR, amplicon sequencing, and other sequencing technologies to support WBE efforts.
• Manage sample and resource inventories in laboratory systems.
• Assist in data preparation for reports, publications, and presentations.
