Senior Research Associate/Senior Research Scientist, Biology

Company Overview

Immunome is a clinical-stage targeted oncology company committed to developing first- and best-in-class targeted therapies designed to improve outcomes for cancer patients. We are advancing an innovative portfolio of therapeutics, drawing on leadership that previously played key roles in the design, development, and commercialization of cutting-edge targeted cancer therapies, including antibody-drug conjugate therapies (ADCs.) Our most advanced pipeline programs are varegacestat (formerly AL102), a gamma secretase inhibitor which is currently in a Phase 3 trial for treatment of desmoid tumors, IM-1021, a ROR1 ADC with an active IND, and IM-3050, a FAP-targeted radioligand, which is the subject of an IND expected to be submitted in the first quarter of 2025. Our pipeline also includes IM-1617, IM-1335, and IM-1340, all of which are preclinical ADCs pursuing undisclosed targets with expression in multiple solid tumors.

Position Overview

The Senior Research Associate/Senior Research Scientist, Biology is a key part of our team working to advance our drug development pipeline. This person will take an active role in cell-based assay development and execution to deeply understand our pre-IND candidates and will play a critical role in our ongoing programs.

Key Responsibilities

Research Design and Execution

  • Work collaboratively within cross-functional teams to design and plan experiments aimed at advancing drug development projects.
  • Independently execute laboratory experiments, following established protocols and ensuring the highest standards of scientific rigor.
  • Establish new methods for evaluating lead candidate molecules, using cellular and molecular biology techniques.
  • Previous experience in antibody-based therapeutics or oncology drug discovery is preferred.

Data Analysis and Interpretation

  • Analyze and summarize experimental data from cell-based assays.
  • Interpret results and communicate implications to developing technologies.
  • Represent the assay development capability in cross-functional program teams and provide expertise and insights to drive project forward.
  • Collaborate with colleagues from diverse scientific disciplines, including chemistry, pharmacology, and translational medicine to achieve project goals.

Documentation and Reporting

  • Maintain detailed and accurate electronic laboratory notebooks documenting experimental procedures, results, and conclusions.
  • Prepare and present research findings to internal teams a contribute to project updates and strategic discussions.

Continuous Learning and Development

  • Stay informed about the latest advancements in techniques for evaluating targeted therapeutics.
  • Proactively seek opportunities for professional development and contribute to the scientific growth of the research team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in biology, cell biology, cancer biology, immunology, or related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience (or 5+ years of experience with a Master’s degree) in preclinical drug development in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry
  • Demonstrated experience performing mammalian cell culture and cell-based assays, including (but not limited to) Cell killing, Internalization and recycling assays, Western blot, ELISA, Immunofluorescent staining, Flow cytometry.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Deep expertise in the development of sophisticated cell-based assays.
  • Expertise in high-throughput screening or analysis of large datasets is a plus.
  • Experience managing or mentoring direct reports is a plus.
  • Ability to understand and communicate complex scientific data.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Washington State Pay Range

$111,000 - $140,000 USD
