Job summary

Abcam, a Danaher company, seeks a Biochemistry/Life Science Laboratory Technician to support assay development and data analysis in a dynamic research environment. You will perform experiments, validate reagents, work with biological samples, and help maintain rigorous records and SOPs.

The role requires a B.S. in Biochemistry or related field and at least one year of relevant laboratory experience, with familiarity in data analysis tools such as GraphPad Prism and Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Biochemistry or related life-science discipline.
• 1 year of relevant laboratory experience.
• Basic proficiency in data analysis tools, including Microsoft Office and non-linear curve-fitting software (e.g. GraphPad Prism).

Responsibilities

• Perform and/or support laboratory experiments required for assay development.
• Assist in validation of enzymes, proteins and antibodies for assay development.
• Work with biological specimens such as plasma/serum and tissue samples.
• Troubleshoot technical issues that may arise in assay kit development or production.
• Maintain laboratory records, write and modify SOPs and support process improvements.

The essential requirements of the job include:

• B.S. in Biochemistry or related life-science discipline
• 1 year of relevant laboratory experience

Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:

• Ability to travel 10%, overnight, within territory or locations
• Ability to lift, move or carry equipment up to 25lb.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

• Experience in microplate-based assay design/development
• Knowledge of enzymology/pharmacology and binding/reaction kinetics
• 1+ year working in an industrial lab setting
