Job summary

The George Washington University Department of Pharmacology & Physiology in Foggy Bottom, DC, seeks a full-time research assistant to independently conduct laboratory research under the guidance of the Principal Investigator, design and execute experiments, collect and analyze data, and prepare technical reports.

Responsibilities include assisting with manuscript preparation and grant submissions, applying established laboratory procedures, and supporting ongoing projects; strong communication

Qualifications

  • Minimum: Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) and 1 year of experience in a related discipline. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position.
  • Strong communication skills, organizational skills, and ability to work collaboratively as part of a team are highly preferred.

Department Information

The George Washington University Department of Pharmacology & Physiology is an active research department with federally funded programs in neuroscience and development, cardiovascular pharmacology and integrative physiology, genomics, and oncology. It offers unique pre‑ and postdoctoral biomedical research training, teaches Pharmacology and Physiology to Medical and Physician Assistant students, and provides graduate courses through the GW Institute for Biomedical Sciences. Its mission is to deliver high‑quality education, advance scientific knowledge, and improve human health through cutting‑edge biomedical research.

Compensation

Hiring Range: $18.51 - $33.85 per hour.
