J.P. Morgan’s Private Company Research team invites a Senior Research Analyst to lead coverage of private disruptors in Space & Defense Tech, delivering deep research and strategic insights from a range of data sources and engaging investors, experts, and management teams.

The role emphasizes building models, writing differentiated notes, and mentoring junior analysts, with prior Aerospace or Defense sector experience and strong communication skills as essential.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in sell-side or buy-side equity/credit research or strategy.
• Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
• Understanding of emerging technologies.
• Proven ability to build investor and management relationships.
• Experience and relationships in Aerospace & Defense Tech.
• Advanced proficiency with analytical, data, and market tools (Excel, Python, Bloomberg).
• FINRA Series 86/87 and/or CFA.

Responsibilities

• Conduct fundamental company and industry research leveraging traditional and alternative sources.
• Evaluate emerging technologies, business models, and companies in Space & Defense Tech.
• Build and maintain models to track company and industry dynamics.
• Write research notes on covered companies and sectors.
• Build relationships with clients, industry experts, and management teams.
• Coach and train junior analysts.
