  • Process Life and Disability insurance applications, ensuring information is complete, accurate and compliant with underwriting guidelines.
  • Review applicant information and medical histories, approve coverage within authority limits, and flag items needing further review.
  • Research application status inquiries, communicate updates to internal partners, and resolve operational and customer service requests.
  • Manage multiple work queues and priority cases while maintaining productivity and quality in a fast-paced environment.
  • Participate in audits, reporting, client transitions, process improvement initiatives and special projects to enhance underwriting operations.

Role Overview:

The Medical Underwriting Administration Senior Representative supports the Medical Underwriting team through the review, processing, and administration of Life and Disability insurance applications. This role is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and timely handling of underwriting information while maintaining high standards of quality and customer service. The position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. The individual will collaborate with internal partners, contribute to operational improvement initiatives, and support the continued growth and effectiveness of the underwriting organization.

What You’ll Do:
  • Process Life and Disability insurance applications, ensuring information is complete, accurate, and compliant with established underwriting guidelines and service standards.

Required Skills:

Preferred Skills:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent higher education experience.
  • Prior experience in group insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, underwriting administration, or insurance operations.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and common medical conditions.
  • Experience identifying process improvement opportunities and contributing to operational efficiency initiatives.
Pay Transparency

Salary Range: $46,500-$66,500

Overtime eligible: Nonexempt

Discretionary bonus eligible: Yes

Sales bonus eligible: No

Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual’s experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
