Nebraska Public Media is seeking a Senior Reporter to create, produce, write, and edit complex news stories focusing on the Omaha Metro area. Create, produce, write, and edit complex and in-depth multi-platform enterprise news stories in the Omaha Metro area for publication on Nebraska Public Media’s Omaha-focused digital news and culture sites, “The Reader” and its Spanish language counterpart, “El-Perico” and on the station’s broadcast platforms. Utilize strong writing and original storytelling skills and organizational skills. Is encouraged to propose, produce, write, and present regional and national projects. Mentor reporters and student workers.

Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in journalism, broadcasting, communications, or related field and five years of news reporting experience as an enterprise or investigative journalist; equivalent education/experience considered. Experience originating, developing, writing, and producing in-depth and complex news content. Strong interpersonal, reporting and researching skills necessary. Familiarity with filing public records requests. Knowledge of news reporting, copywriting, editing, and current events. Demonstrated computer literacy.
