Job summary

Westwood Professional Services seeks a Senior Remote Sensing Technician to join our Geospatial team for post‑processing aerial data to final deliverables. You will ensure accuracy and reliability of LiDAR and imagery products from manned and unmanned sources, troubleshoot issues, and perform quality control.

You will collaborate with Remote Sensing leads, develop SOPs, and stay current with industry best practices, training, and software updates, contributing to multiple markets and clients.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of experience in geomatics/remote sensing or related field.
• Minimum 3+ years in a senior technician role.
• ASPRS certifications highly desired.
• Strong understanding of LiDAR and remote sensing data processing.
• Proficiency with TerraSolid, RiProcess, MicroStation, MetaShape, Photoshop, PLS-CADD, TopoDOT.
• In-depth knowledge of coordinate systems and projections.
• Scripting and light programming to support automation.
• Experience surveying techniques and project control concepts.
• Excellent problem solving and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Work with Remote Sensing Leadership to meet project expectations.
• Post‑process datasets according to internal guidelines and best practices.
• Create final deliverables based on project scope for various markets.
• Troubleshoot technical issues related to aerial datasets.
• Conduct quality control to ensure accuracy and reliability of deliverables.
• Stay updated on remote sensing advancements and SOPs.
• Assist in developing and implementing SOPs for aerial deliverables.
• Collaborate with software vendors for support and updates.
• Participate in training programs to enhance technical skills.
• Assist with testing and implementation of new software.

Associate degree in geomatics/remote sensing
