Job summary

Jonus Group is seeking an experienced Construction Defect Claims Adjuster to join our client's Claims team. This role investigates, evaluates, negotiates, and resolves complex construction defect claims, serving insureds, brokers, attorneys and other partners.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in Construction Defect/complex GL, strong policy knowledge, and experience with litigated and multi‑party claims; this position offers a remote-friendly schedule and a competitive salary with annual bonus.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience handling Construction Defect and/or complex General Liability claims.
• Strong knowledge of Commercial General Liability policies and coverage analysis.
• Experience managing litigated claims and working closely with defense counsel.
• Knowledge of construction practices, contracts, risk transfer, additional insured issues, and indemnification agreements is highly preferred.
• Experience handling multi-party and high-exposure claims.
• Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Ability to independently manage a complex caseload in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of complex Construction Defect claims from initial assignment through resolution.
• Conduct thorough investigations to determine coverage, liability, damages, and exposure.
• Review policies and analyze complex coverage issues.
• Coordinate with insureds, brokers, attorneys, experts, contractors, and other involved parties.
• Manage litigated claims and partner with defense counsel to develop effective litigation and resolution strategies.
• Evaluate settlement opportunities and negotiate resolutions within established authority.
• Review and analyze legal documents, contracts, indemnity agreements, tenders, and other claim-related documentation.
• Establish and maintain appropriate claim reserves.
• Identify potential risk transfer and subrogation opportunities.
• Prepare clear and timely claim documentation and reports.
• Ensure claims are handled in compliance with company guidelines, applicable laws, and industry best practices.
