Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Senior Reliability Systems Engineer to lead end-to-end reliability across spacecraft subsystems for the MK2 Crew Lunar Lander program. You will apply FTA, FMECA, and reliability analyses from requirements through verification, integration, and operations, partnering with structures, propulsion, power, avionics, GNC, thermal, and software teams.

You will mentor engineers, drive cross-team reliability milestones, and communicate technical decisions to program leadership

Qualifications

  • B.S. degree in aerospace engineering, systems engineering, or related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in spacecraft, launch vehicle, aerospace, or other safety-critical complex systems.
  • Proven experience in Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), Failure Modes Effects and Criticality Analyses (FMECA), reliability evaluation.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out and direct reliability engineering processes including Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), Reliability Block Diagrams, and FMECA.
  • Develop plans and coordinate completion of system and subsystem reliability analysis, providing review and mentorship.
  • Support verification and validation of reliability requirements.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to other engineers across the program and company.
  • Collaborate across Lunar Systems Engineers to develop guidelines and find opportunities for common processes across projects.
  • Partner with subsystem leads to ensure coherent end-to-end build.
  • Support integration and test campaigns: readiness reviews, test execution support, data review.
  • Communicate status and technical decisions clearly to program leadership.
