Job summary

Northern Star Resources Limited at the Pogo Mine in Alaska is seeking a Senior Reliability Engineer to lead reliability engineering, project management, and condition monitoring across the processing plant, site infrastructure, and surface operations.

The role focuses on maximizing equipment availability, reducing maintenance costs, and delivering capital and reliability improvement projects, with a 15 days on / 13 days off rotational schedule at our remote Pogo Mine operation.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years' experience in Maintenance Management and Reliability Engineering.
• 3–5 years' hands-on industrial maintenance or project experience.
• Strong knowledge of Reliability Engineering, Asset Management, Preventive & Predictive Maintenance, and RCA/RCFA.
• Experience with vibration analysis, thermography, oil analysis, UT, and condition monitoring.
• Experience with project management, maintenance planning, scheduling, budgeting, and cost-control.
• Experience in mining or heavy industry preferred.
• CMMS experience with Pronto; proficient in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Lead Projects, Reliability, and Condition Monitoring activities ensuring MSHA compliance and site safety standards.
• Develop and oversee Reliability Engineering and Continuous Improvement programs.
• Manage PdM/PM programs including vibration, thermography, oil analysis, UT, and condition monitoring.
• Lead RCFA/RCA, defect elimination, and equipment reliability initiatives.
• Analyze equipment performance, reliability, maintainability, availability, downtime, and maintenance data to identify improvements.
• Scope and deliver reliability improvement and capital projects.
• Oversee engineering projects from scoping to closeout and prepare equipment specs and cost estimates.

Northern Star Resources is seeking an experienced Senior Reliability Engineer to join our team at the Pogo Mine in Alaska. Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent, this role leads reliability engineering, project management, condition monitoring, predictive maintenance, and continuous improvement initiatives across the processing plant, site infrastructure, and surface operations.

The primary focus is tomaximize equipment availability and plant uptime, improve asset reliability, reduce maintenance costs, and safely deliver capital and reliability improvement projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead Projects, Reliability, and Condition Monitoring activities in compliance withMSHA regulations and site safety standards.
• Develop and overseeReliability Engineering and Continuous Improvement programs.
• ManagePredictive and Preventive Maintenance (PdM/PM) programs, including vibration analysis, thermography, oil analysis, ultrasonic testing (UT), and condition monitoring.
• LeadRoot Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA/RCA), defect elimination, and equipment reliability initiatives.
• Analyze equipment performance, reliability, maintainability, availability, downtime, and maintenance data to identify improvement opportunities.
• Scope, evaluate, develop, and deliverreliability improvement and capital projects.
• Lead engineering projects throughscoping, design, planning, scheduling, budgeting, procurement, construction, commissioning, and closeout.
• Prepare equipment specifications, requisitions, bid packages, contractor evaluations, cost estimates, schedules, and progress reports.
• Manage contractors, vendors, bidding processes, and site entry requirements.
• Supportmaintenance planning and scheduling and provide technical solutions to maintenance and operational issues.
• Monitor project budgets, costs, schedules, KPIs, and variances.
• Lead, mentor, and develop Project Engineers, Coordinators, Supervisors, and Reliability/Condition Monitoring personnel.
• Drive a high-performance culture focused onSafety, Reliability, Operational Excellence, Asset Management, and Continuous Improvement.

Qualifications & Experience

• 5–10 years' experience in Maintenance Management, Reliability Engineering, Project Engineering, Project Management, or Project Supervision.
• 3–5 years' hands-on industrial maintenance and/or engineering project experience.
• Strong knowledge ofReliability Engineering, Asset Management, Preventive Maintenance, Predictive Maintenance, Condition Monitoring, Root Cause Analysis (RCA/RCFA), Defect Elimination, and Maintenance Strategy.
• Experience with vibration analysis, thermography, oil analysis, ultrasonic testing, reliability metrics, and equipment performance analytics.
• Strongproject management, maintenance planning, scheduling, budgeting, and cost-control skills.
• Experience inmining, mineral processing, fixed plant, processing plants, heavy industry, or industrial maintenance preferred.
• Demonstrated leadership, team development, mentoring, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Proficiency withCMMS systems such as Pronto and Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge and practical application ofMSHA regulations preferred.
• Current driver's license.
• Ability to successfully complete required background checks and post-offer physical requirements.
