Job summary

Google's Raxium display group develops and manufactures efficient, monolithic RGB microLED displays for AR applications. As a MicroLED Reliability Engineer, you will lead reliability programs for microLED panels, design test plans, run tests, and perform in-depth analyses to predict product reliability.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or a specialized field (e.g., Optics, Sensors, Audio/DSP, etc.), or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience in optoelectronic device reliability (e.g., lasers, LEDs, detectors, or VCSELs).
  • 3 years of experience in reliability and qualification testing, data analysis, and reliability predictions for optoelectronic devices.
  • 2 years of experience with databases and programming, including data extraction, analysis, and visualization with tools such as JMP or Reliasoft.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver microLED device reliability assessments using test structures, at wafer level and package level.
  • Own the reliability data analysis, automation and reporting, reliability predictions for product failure rates, over-life device performance changes and drive understanding of device physics and reliability failure mechanisms.
  • Manage and plan reliability test schedules for semiconductor microLED devices, work with support staff in executing the required activities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Direct failure analysis and root cause/corrective action discussions with the test, process, integration, and product teams for failures that occur in the reliability and qualification tests.
  • Provide reliability inputs and recommendations at the integration and product design review meetings to ensure that product reliability requirements are met.

Preferred qualifications

  • 8 years of experience in reliability of semiconductor optical devices, and experience with reliability for display products.
  • Experience with driving and implementing DFR methodology including Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
  • Experience in driving failure analysis for optoelectronic device reliability failures.
  • Experience in debug of reliability stress/test hardware and ability to drive improvements in methodology.
  • Knowledge of optoelectronic device performance requirements and test methodology, particularly for III-V or LED/display products.

The Raxium team's mission is to develop and manufacture efficient, monolithic RGB microLED displays for Augmented Reality applications. The reliability team collaborates with the development teams in design for reliability of the uLED frontplane, CMOS backplane and the integrated display panel.

As a MicroLED Reliability Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and continuously improving reliability programs for microLED-based display panels. You will direct developing the reliability test plan, executing reliability tests, performing in-depth analysis, and providing product reliability predictions. Collaboration with design and process teams will be essential for you to ensure outstanding reliability performance in our next-generation microLED panels.

Google's Raxium display group has established a revolutionary semiconductor materials display technology that enables new functionality in display products, bringing to users a closer and more natural linkage between the digital and physical realms in applications such as augmented reality (AR) and light-field display. With start-up roots and a state-of-the-art compound semiconductor fab in Silicon Valley, Raxium is seeking to build upon its engineering team with an aim to disrupt next-generation display markets.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $159000 - $230000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits
